Ever since its foundation in 1991 as an independent organization, the Japan International Transport Institute (JITI) has been engaging in comprehensive studies concerning international transport, as part of the organization called Institution for Transport Policy Studies (ITPS).  With offices in Washington DC and in Tokyo, the Institute widely provides information regarding transport issues in the US, the European Union, and the East Asian region.  We also work to increase understanding and facilitate greater contact among all interested parties in the transport field through the hosting of conferences and seminars as well as through evaluating and offering recommendations on transport policy issues.
